A Seattle television station investigates the presence of the flesh-eating Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) bacteria in pork and discovered MRSA in three percent of its sample.
Three percent may not be widespread enough to cause us to panic and stop eating pork but it is a big enough percentage to make us extra careful when we prepare pork – particularly ground pork according to this report – in our kitchens.
He didn’t get it from pork however for he was infected with the bacteria while undergoing surgery. Ain’t that tragic?
